Congratulations on taking a step towards self-care and reaching out for therapy! Sometimes the first step is the hardest.
I love to help people increase their awareness and put language to what can be a complicated mix of feelings and experiences. This can lead to more clarity and a deeper understanding of themselves and their current situation.
When we stop to sort through our feelings and experiences with the help, insight, and acknowledgement of a support person, then we can begin to process them and develop a sense of self-acceptance, self-compassion and appreciation of our efforts. We can learn to be patient with ourselves. Together we can find a way towards healing.
I’m glad to be a clinical intern at MBTW. I’ve been trained in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EFT-tapping. I can use narrative therapy to help frame our work together. I am familiar with Internal Family Systems. I am currently a group therapy facilitator at a behavioral health center
and I have a background in education and art.
I use meditation techniques and therapeutic art techniques. I can bring a spiritual element to our sessions if that’s helpful. I work with both neuro-diverse and neurotypical children, teens, and adults. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, attachment issues, trauma, substance abuse challenges, parenting challenges, couples issues, and school issues.
